In it's 44th year, the LA Pride festival is a three-day event, kicking off on Friday with a free concert featuring Betty Who, Mary Lambert and Monogem - all who have been big supporters raising awareness in the TLGBT community - in what was dubbed as a 'Celebration of Women.'

Mary Lambert made a big splash with her hit song "Same Love" which highlighted the plight of equal marriage for all and made headlines at this year's Grammy Awards when she took part, along with Macklemore & Ryan Lewis, in marrying couples during their same-sex anthem "Same Love." During her set, Lambert mentioned that this was her first Pride festival.

Betty Who also became the voice of same-sex marriage after her song "Somebody Loves You" became a viral sensation when a couple used the song to propose to his love. That video skyrocketed to over 12 million hits and made Betty Who a household name.  She has since sang the song at Spencer and Dustin's wedding and continues to be vocal about TLGBT rights.

Saturday's festivities featured openly bi-sexual Azealia Banks, the hip-hop bad girl who's highly anticipated debut album Broke With Expensive Taste looks closer to finally getting a release date, recently telling Nylon that it'll be released this September.  Banks took the stage dressed like a superhero, donning her megaphone while singing her hits "ATM Jam,""212" and "Yung Rapunxel."

Thunder Ground, also made its first appearance.  The pop-up roller rink made up to look like a disco with crystal ball hanging above in its center pays homage to the nightclub roller rinks and infamous daytime Playboy Mansion roller skating parties of the late '70s and early '80s with the hottest DJs spinning the latest hits.

The festival, which celebrates diversity and community from Grammy Award winning artists performances, to art and heritage installation and exhibits to community initiatives culminates  with special performances by the hottest musical acts in the industry which followed a parade on Sunday that attracted over 50,000 attendees on the streets of West Hollywood naming pop-singer Demi Lovato as its Grand Marshall.
